Some of our favorite blooms for the winter include: champagne roses, magenta tulips, brazilia berry, cedar, cymbidium burgundy orchids, anemones, white hyacinth, burgundy peonies, hanging amaranthus, tallow berry, lemon leaf + patience garden roses. We also really love flannel flowers (that name screams winter!) + hellebores, which can be tricky depending on weather + availability conditions, but look so great if you can get your hands on them! Another fave? Magic Green Amaryllis 🙂
A lot of brides find it surprising that peonies are also available in the winter! This beloved bloom that makes you think spring has a short winter season that makes us want to do a happy dance! Winter brides who heart peonies, make sure to add them to your list of flower faves for your florist.
Of course, we had to have a little bit of fun playing with all the blooms we gathered for the winter guide! The easy-peasy wreath we constructed above would make a cool accent for a holiday party, don’t you think?! We have it laying down on kraft paper, so you could circle a food or cocktail display + write the menu offerings right on the paper if you wanted!
If your wedding date isn’t set quite yet, but you were hoping to get a feel for what types of stems are available year round, we’ve got you covered, with a few of our favorites that are available throughout the seasons! Silver dollar eucalyptus makes the prettiest base for garlands and air plants + succulents are an eco + budget friendly option since you can keep them long after the wedding day is done. Gift them to your guests or take them home to decorate your space + have a fun reminder from your day!
Thanks so much to Katie Pritchard for the photos!
