Here we would like to share with you some photos, articles, intervew from Flowers VDNH 2016, held in Moscow from 24 till 26 of August. Ecuadorian and Russian press had made some articles about the event and our General Manager – Leonid Marcelo Tapia, answered some questions and commented about the situation of flower import in Russia.

“Six Ecuadorian companies, sponsored by PROECUADOR participated in the Trade Fair Flowers 2016 in Moscow, introducing new Ecuadorian exports offer” (El Universo)
“Another Ecuadorian entrepreneur, Mr. Marcelo Tapia, who had been working with the Russian market for over 24 years and is one of the pioneers in the export of Ecuadorian flowers to Russia, has chosen a different tactic. “Here on the official stand of Ecuador, I have exhibited the most popular varieties of roses, however for our new potential buyers I have prepared unique specimens, that are a secret for now” – says Mr. Tapia. Ecuadorian fresh cut flowers occupy about 40% of imported flowers segment of the Russian market.
At the opening of the exhibition “Flowers-2016″ the ambassador of the Republic of Ecuador in Russia Julio Prado Espinosa performed a welcoming speech and noted that for their quality and unmatched beauty – the Ecuadorian flowers are recognized as the best in the world, in a vase, usually, they last longer then others, and it is possible thanks to Ecuador’s geographical location on the equator line and also because the plantations are located at altitude of more than 2000 meters above sea level, where the flowers get sunlight for 12 hours a day, with an average temperature of 14ºC. These geographical features allow the flowers to grow throughout the year.” (QueenCity)
“According to the Federal Customs Service of Russia for 2016, Ecuador continues to lead in exports of fresh cut flowers, reaching sums of exports up to 83 million dollars, leaving far behind Italy (32 million. Dollars), Kenya (31 million. Dollars) and Colombia (18 million. dollars). Ecuadorian fresh cut flowers occupy about 40% of this segment of the Russian market.” (Gardner.ru)
